About Me
Milagros, an emerging bilingual writer and translator, enjoys straddling her home cities of Tijuana, Mexico & San Diego, California. Daughter of a Spanish Civil War refugee, born in the US, she has worked as a Child & Family Counselor, Creative Advertising Director and Instructional Designer with major IT & medical firms. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing at SDSU and is a collaborator for Poetry International. Her digital poem, “Border Waters” was exhibited in ICIDS 2024 (International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling) in Barranquilla, Columbia in 2024. She has three recently completed, unpublished chapbooks, Grendel in the Lake, The Nature of Unfinishidness, and Leaves Barely Showing, and is completing a bilingual manuscript about place. This year she is writing wholeheartedly in her native Spanish as she absorbs so much from the "Masters de Poesia" in the Escuela de Escritores in Madrid.
